Pastor Jones arrived at Pekin Bible Church in September 1995 with his wife Molly and
their four children. Their oldest son, Nathan, and his wife, Becky, are missionary
appointees planning to go to Arctic Canada and start a church among the native
people. Stephanie spent two years in Paraguay and is
now in graduate school at Dallas Theological Seminary. Stacy
is recently married and her husband, Dan is a youth pastor
in the Chicago area. Chris is a sophomore at the Moody Bible
Institute. Alejandra, Miguel and Jose were recently adopted
by the Joneses."
Born and raised in Canada, he came to the U.S. to study at Capital Bible Seminary,
located just outside of Washington, D.C. It was there he and Molly met. After
graduating with a Master of Theology degree, he pastored 5 years in Maryland and
5 years in New Jersey before coming to Pekin.
At Pekin Bible Church he led the Board of Family Ministries, overseeing the lay
leaders of our ministries to Children, Youth, and Adult Bible Fellowship. In
addition, he led the Worship Committee, planned and led worship and directed the
choir. The Lord opened the opportunity for him to serve as Senior Pastor
beginning in February 2000. Besides the ministry of the Word, he serves
as Elder of Missions.
The congregation of the Pekin Bible Church called Bill Letcher to the church as Pastor of Youth
Ministries in July 2001. He and his wife Cathy, moved here from Pennsylvania where they were employed
at Baptist Bible College and Seminary, in Clarks Summit. He was raised in Northern Kentucky and Cathy
in Iowa. They are blessed to have two daughters Carly
and Cara.
Pastor Letcher has a B.S. in Bible and Youth Pastoral Studies from Baptist Bible
College and has completed half of the M. Div. program. He is the Pastor of Youth
Ministries. His main focus is working with Jr. and Sr. High teenagers. Having
worked with teens throughout their college and seminary years, God has given the
Letchers a burden to reach today's youth with the life-changing message of Christ.
He also fills the role as this church's Worship Leader, planning and leading
the Sunday morning and evening worship services.
